1961 - 1962 panhead footshift tanks

I'm wondering about rebuilding a 1961 pan .I want it to have the original fuel tanks ,with the indentation for the metal emblem, what would be a ball park figure I would have to pay for a good set?
I saw some old Knuckle tanks on ebay going for over $1500.00
That would put the damper on my idea ,as I need quite a few other parts as well.

Just ended on e-bay, the exact set you're lookin' for. Final bid $310, did not meet the reserve.

A nice set of 61 tanks sold for $375 on March 23.

$500 or less is a good deal for tanks that are this nice.

Sometimes I will watch an item with a 'Buy-It-Now' price, and right near the end of the auction, if it's still there and no takers, I contact the seller and see if he's willing to sell it for a lesser amount. Not trying to beat the guy up, just offering a price that would be fair to both of us. Usually we can find a happy ground and cut a deal.....

But the risk of someone swooping in at the last minute and buying it still remains....
