inner primary mounting question

inner primary mounting question
I was given an inner primary mounting kit this evening....never knew such a gem exsisted, usually just used washers, nuts and bolts....where do the springs go....in front of the mounting tabs or behind them....what are their purpose.....Thanks Skip

The springs are on the out side of the tabs, using the oil tank mount as a example , it would be the tank tab, inner primary tab, washer , spring , washer , nut /with cotter pin. ( of course the bolt goes through from the inside , it would be too much fun with that castellated nut on the inside )( I have seen some set up differently ) As far as why , my guess is to keep vibration from breaking the inner primary sheet metal tabs . You should have two springs , for top oil tank tab and the frame tab below .
