Fender fence installation

#1

Post by PanPal »

I finally found a fender (ball and rail) fence for the back of my front fender. It came with the stud balls taped to the fence rail. I have 4 ball studs 2 with through holes and 2 end ball studs. Is there supposed to be a third through hole ball stud? I've always wanted one but also wanted to fill the hole that is in the rear center of my fender. When I bought the bike, it had a later model front fender with a mudflap mounted through the hole. The new fender I bought had the same hole. Was this for a mudflap or for fender trim? I'm looking for original options issued for a "59"

I am also wondering which fender light is correct for 59.

Can someone post pictures of these 2 items?

Yes there is a third thru-hole ball stud. Sorry, don't have a picture of it but as I recall it is mounted in the center of the fender.

Does anyone have one stud they would sell? If I have to make it, I would make it out of stainless so I would probably have to make a set. the originals appear to be Cad plated or old chrome. They appear to be larger ball studs than the fence that was offered for the dash cover.

Last weekend I notice an aerosol can in my buddies shop on his bench. It was Cad paint. Has anyone seen this?

I could still use a picture for stud location purposes. Anyone?

Heat Resistant aluminum looks a lot like cad plating. Try some...
