#1

Post by j**r**m »

Howdy!

Can anybody tell me what the measurements are or where to drill holes to install the little Hydra Glide emblems on a glide front fender?

Thanks,

Jim

Folks,

It would be easiest to find an original fender and make paper templates.

Jim,
If you are talking about the -50 part number Hydra-Glide script it is tough to say where to put them. They were only offered as an add on from the factory in '51 and were not part of any equipment group so it is difficult to say whether they were ever factory mounted or just sent along if ordered. They were also an over the counter accessory which could be (and was) mounted anywhere you like, and first appear in the '50 accessory catalog. In '52 the OHV deluxe emblem came out but was part of the Deluxe group so location is easier to determine since they were factory installed and were quite popular.
As you can see in the accessory catalog, the location was a suggestion only, the owner could do as he pleased. And as for how many were dealer installed, owner installed, or if any were factory installed, is all speculation.
