1948-1953 wishbone frame questions

I dug out an old frame that my dad has had sitting on the side of his house for about 20 years and as close as I can tell, it looks to be a 48-53 wishbone panhead frame. It has the mechanical brake crossover and i was just wondering if there are any limitations to using this style of frame like engine or trans. This would be for a bobber I am planning on building so nothing for a restoration or a period correct bike. Looking at using an Evo engine and probably a 4 or 5 in a 4 trans. Just wondering if there are any disadvantages.

Hello xnoahx! look, regarding that 48-51 wishbone....you can't get an evo into that frame without some cutting/stretching/grinding to INCREASE that motor cradle size....Da' Evo won't fit!

agreed-evo is too tall for stock wishbone
sell the wishbone before cutting on it.
Buy a aftermarket frame w/proceeds.
You will save a piece of history, & have a frame that will fit anything U want.

Unfortunatly, this frame has already been messed with some. the neck has been smoothed out as has the seat post area. The tank and toolbox mounts have been removed as well.

Too bad about the wishbone frame "being messed with"....too many nice stock frames were "hacked" during the chopper era of the 60's and 70's. Well, there's your excuse to install a, ah...Evo? That should loook good (*?&^#!?????).

I would love to use an older engine but they just cost way too much money I could buy a whole jap sport bike for the cost of one of those. wouldn't be as nice looking though.
