Between which 2 parts should the rear crash bar tabs be mounted? Also, I am going to mount buddy seat helper springs on this motorcycle. Not really sure of the order of the hardware, crash bar, and helper spring mount????? Any help will be greatly appreciated. If any one has pictures of this setup on their bike, it would be great.!

Re: Rear Crash bar mounting on '50 Panhead
I have to try sending pictures.
The bolt through the fender, next the U shaped frame bracket, then a 3/16" thick nut, then the buddy seat brace, next a 1/8" thick flat washer, next the crash bar, then a thin flat washer, lock washer and lastly a nut.
Hope this makes sense.

That looks right. I never understood why they used a thin nut over the "U" bracket without a flat washer first.

55 pan fl,
I'm not sure about the washer under the crash bar/ I'm trying to figure out the arrangement myself , Palmer gives reference only for the order with crash bar, not helper spring bracket.
