You can take the whole switch to a lock smith and maybe they can help you out , you may be surprized. If you are not trying to keep a vintage switch , you can just replace the switch with an after new market one and get keys with it.

There is a guy in Minnesota who advertises he has all the key codes back to 36 or so. I'll try to find his number. Do yourself a favor and avoid the chinese ignition switches, stick with the stock switch.

Hello:- The key problem. I had the same thing. Here is my advise and mine only. Palmers book sez the steering lock key was the same as the ignition lock. If tyou still have the steering lock key, you can have a good locksmith change or grind the tumblers to match the steering lock key. Gives you one key for both and it makes sense that the Motor Company did just that. If you dont have a steering lock but are plannining for one, then wait and set it up so both match, I did....partshutn

I found the name of the guy who advertises in the AMCA magazine.
Zach's Lock Shop 507-387-1373
He says he can supply any H-D ignition key.
