Don't know what you mean by prototype, that is a common '58-'64 tool box. The wings were dropped on the screw (also used on K Model and '55-'57 Panheads) for '59 and replaced with a plain slotted one.

What it says on page 92 is that the 58 prototype motorcycle on page 616 is shown with the wing nut style lock because the motorcycle shown is a PROTOTYPE.

A little side note, the screw was changed due to the repositioning of the box into a vertical position. This put the screw into the path of the riders heel upon kick starting the bike, causing the wings to bend and potentially injure the rider. When in the original horizontal position the screw was further back missing the foot. The '55-'57 box has a ribbed cover and a screw. The inner half also has another hole for the fender bolt like the '40 up type, not present in the '58 type.
