Foot\Forward controls

#1

Post by MS-Geek »

Hi, sorry to bug you guys again, hope to one day give more answers than I get.

I'm trying replace my floor boards with forward controls, I asked this once before but was a bit confused as some consider floor boards already forward.

So I'm trying to just buy standard peg controls, PM style. The problem is some say pre 1999, some say 58 to 84. It's just not consistant.

Does anyone know what changed in the mounts from a 57 staraight leg frame to a 58? Is this something I could make a bracket for? There seems to be plenty of mounting holes on the brackets, I just need two.

Any help would be really appreciated.

thanks,
Geek

Nothing changed in mounts from '57-'58, but the brakes changed dramatically, from mechanical to hydraulic. What are you trying to do!

See the pictures in "Finally Done" post that followed yours. Is that what you're looking for?

geek,
The basic tabs on the frame where they mount were the same from '36 into the '80s with very few exceptions. Some FX models in the '70s that came with mid controls had the right side mount chopped off, but otherwise they controls will bolt up. So as I said earlier, it depends only on what BRAKES you have, mechanical or hydraulic!!
