steering head bearing races
anyone know of a good way to R&R races from cups, w/o expensive tools? ( timkens )

i can't seem to use the search function well but this was asked 3 days ago. not trying to say don't ask questions but if you can figure out the search allot of things have been answered or gone over in some way..

Drill small holes in the bottom of the cup below the race and drive them out with a pin punch. A little heat can help if needed.

then you have cups with holes in them-rain= shot bearings in no time

Sorry I tried to help, put silicone in the holes after. Boat wheel bearings live UNDER water!

hey, upsrod no need for sorry, thanks for reply & input, guess i was looking for an easy way. nothing wrong with your suggesstion, just have OCD when it comes to scoots: took cups out, went to local weld shop, had them tig(low heat) small bead on races, they came right out, sent me on my way for $10. pressed new races in cups. thanks for all replys
