Compensator sprocket differences

Description: Does anyone know if there is a difference between the late and early compensator sprockets

Does anyone know for sure if there is a difference between the late and early compensator sprockets? I know the spring, spring housing and nut changed, but I am wondering if you can put a late gear on an early setup. I have only been able to find a 25 tooth sprocket for the newer model.

Thanks

I am by NO means an expert, but I have a complete compensator sprocket set up from 1955 and newer that has 24 tooth front sprocket. I know this set up I'm describing here came from a splined 1970 FLH and believe it will fit all the way back to the 1955 splined engine sprocket shafts. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it! Sorry...being clever, but in honesty, that is all I know about this. Correct me please...anyone...if I'm in error here.
