8mm vs 11mm Belt Drive?
Hi, have a opportunity to get an 11mm kick/elec clutch hub (w/ring gear)...99 tooth belt. It looks like a BDL. My panhead is a kick only, so popping the 6x ring gear rivets and removing the ring gear would solve the tin primary clearance issue. My question is: what's the main benefit in either the 8mm vs. 11mm belt drive setup? The 11mm kick/elec would probably have an idler part for the years 65 to early 85....can I chuck this, for my setup...probably wouldn't support it anyways. I figure the pitch of the belt pulley teeth would be the biggest diff, or?

I went with the 11MM for the drive ratio, Runs good at 70 mph.,W/ 58 swing arm frame. You will need a adj. tranny plate to adj. belt .

The mm length is measured from the center of one belt lobe to centerline of the one next to it.
Get an 11mm belt for a stock Knuckle and Pan motor.

....appreciate the feedback! I have a pan motor, w/4speed trans & adjuster setup....tucked into a rigid frame. I basically need a slow-poke ratio, so 11mm it is! This is "the" only site, I referr to, thnx again!

I didn't factor a '65 and later adjuster into the mix.& adjuster setup
11mm might still be fine, but I don't know anything about '65 and later.
