wonderin, has anyone gone the chopper cookbook route ? ...it involves cuttin the cheap tin for a stock tensioner with angle iron weld to the frame rail down under(kickonly)...would like to see results if so..thanks 2everone

I did this in 1975, using a tensioner from a 66 aluminum primary cases. I didn't use angle
iron as it looks very unprofessional (in my opinion). I made a plate with a brace going out from the plate at 45 degrees. It works well, but make sure it lines up square to the run of the chain.
Make sure the hole at the back of the primary is as close a possible or you're going to get gritty shit in there.
I copied this from a buddy of mine, by the way, we were leaving on an yearly run we do, in Feb this year, (no snow here) he was just checking his primary chain and I noticed he still has it on his bike to this day.
I sold that bike in 1986 and never did that to any of my other bikes.
I don't mind moving the gearbox back to tighten the primary chain and then tighten the rear.
I haven't known much else I guess.
