Re: pan aluminum clutch pressure plate question
None! It does just as good of a job as the orignal. If I started out selling this crap 30 years ago. I'd be just as rich as the slim that did and I'd beable to get the sweet white hoe on Biker Planet. Bob L

Re: pan aluminum clutch pressure plate question
It has been my experience that the stock stamped steel H-D unit holds up pretty well to mildly modified engines. The big selling point on the aluminum units was that they didn't warp as I remember. If you have good springs and a decent stock p.plate you should be good to go if you aren't running to may horses and/or aren't running airplane gears....bosheff

Re: pan aluminum clutch pressure plate question
I've seen the aftermarket steel pressure plates warped out of the box.
Check it on surface plate if you have one.
Cheers

Re: pan aluminum clutch pressure plate question
I doubt that even a NOS stock H-D p.plate is anywhere near perfectly flat. That being said, I've serviced some pretty womped out clutches and as long as the motors aren't puttin out mega horse power, the clutches generally seem to be up to the task. Usually it is the fibers that cause the slipping condition, or to much horse power....bosheff
