What is a good source to obtain a high quality clutch cable for a mousetrap set-up?
I had one from V-Twin on my bike and the end has popped off twice within 100 miles of use. The first time was when I was adjusting the clutch for the fisrt time with 0 miles on the cable. I had the end soldered back on. Today, it popped off during a ride. Fortunately, I was able to nurse the bike back home by manually working the mousetrap.

Re: mousetrap clutch cable
Both my clutch and brake cables I just bought by the foot locally and soldered the ends on myself. with a good fitting end piece and good penetration (not a "rosin" joint) the solder is quite strong.
I would first load the cable with solder then add the fitting and re-solder.

You could call Chuck at Kick Start Motorcycle Parts, 616-243-8991. Make sure you get the correct cable end, depending on what lever style you have...Mike

Re: mousetrap clutch cable
I used a Barnett cable when I was running a mousetrap. Matter of fact, now I use a Barnett 'velvet touch' with the mousetrap eliminator. I also carry with me a 'clutch cable repair end', just in case the Barnett decides to give up the ghost.
