clutch throw out bearing
Question, how do you determine if the old style clutch throw out bearing is still serviceable? It has some play and rattles when you spin it dry but does not show any physical wear marks on its pressure points. I have not seen any discussion in the KB yet. Thanks again . Slowly dismantling things and assessing. jerry

jerryd,
Spin it with slight pressure against it. It should be smooth. They are loose and rattly when no pressure is on them.

Thank you. Away til Fri Kicker had a cup of grease in it. The fill plug is stripped and had a piece of rag jambed in it to keep it in. Maybe the grease was to keep the oil from pressuring the plug. jerry
