Clutch linkage rod rubs header pipe
Hello loved ones,
Calling on all those with a dual exhaust system. My clutch linkage rod is rubbing against the left header pipe. There is not a lot of adjusting once you have all the attachment points together on it (cylinder clamp, port clamp and support tube clamp)
Is this a common issue?

I've got duals but never had a problem as u describe. Are you sure your pipe is up all the way on the exhaust spigot?...sometime you just have to loosen the entire assembly, start from the back, just snug everything slowly as you move forward....

Keith

Guessing my booster is set to high.. Will give that a shit this evening. I've noticed in pictures, than dual units have the booster set lower than single units. That may be my problem

There's a dimension given in the rider handbook for the mousetrap height , but maybe it was lower with duels , I had duels on my 60 , and I believe the height was the same.Gotnoclass wrote:Guessing my booster is set to high.. Re: Clutch linkage rod rubs header pipe
I've noticed in pictures of duals some are close to the oil tank and some are further out before the bend down past the primary cover. Must be different after market manufacturers? I understand the MOCO didn't make duals until late 60's? Also, In pictures, that clutch release rod looks to be pretty much horizontal or level with the frame?

The first Factory H-D duals were available in '54. Previous to that aftermarket were available. Duals were available every year after that.I understand the MOCO didn't make duals until late 60's?

This is the dimensions I have for an early footshift . Not sure how it would work out with duels
