What type of clutch do you have installed ...?
I just had this plauged problem for 3 yrs on my bobber, 4 speed, open bdl belt drive, primo clutch kit, basically it was the hardened ring sunk into the anodized ali clutch hub basket, it hadn't been seated home properly, I managed to get under the ring in 2 places a 6 & 7 thou feeler gauge....!!
I tried to press it but it wouldn't budge, but as I had already supported it underneath(as not to smash the thin collar it rests on) I persuaded it with a nice square punch and bertha .... job done
Apparently the ali basket is heated and ring frozen to insert at manufacture .... corrected in berkshire ....
