Generator field coil question

#1

Post by 1955fle »

I have been looking to replace the field coils in my 52e generator. I have seen different part numbers all referencing the correct coils. 30201-52 claim to be for 52 -57 all models. I have also seen 30202-52 for 52 - 57 all models. Can you tell me what the difference is between these two coils. My generator has smaller oval shaped with round center hole. I am very confused. Thanks for the help.

I thought I would add a pic of what I have. Maybe you can tell which field coil this is. Any help would be appreciated.

That's a 32E field coil and pole shoe. Attached is a photo showing a model 52 field coil and pole shoe ... Perry

Is it possible for a 32e field coil to be in a 52e body? Should I upgrade to the newer coil?

If you put in the later style field coils you should (in my opinion) also use the larger pole shoes ... Perry

I would also use the larger pole shoes. Are the two size field coils and shoes interchangeable Do I also need to change the amateur?

The armature is the same between the 32E and the 52. The field coils and pole shoes interchange ... Perry
