Transmission oil leak

Hello all,
I have a oil leak that came out of nowhere, sound familiar?
A slow drip coming directly off the bottom of the rear chain at the trans sprocket.
Cleaned everything up to look, can't see where it's coming from so I assume it's the trans seal.
Raise bike off the ground vertical.
Take everything apart, primary everything. Don't see anything obvious, no oil running down the trans case or past the oil seal.
It's definately trans oil, very clean. I also have a normal primary drip thats a different color.
So I clean everything up and while I'm already there I replace the trans cork and seal, make sure the little "L" clip is in place, use sealer on the slinger plate and install one of those super nuts with the built in "O" ring. Put everything back together, looking good. One more thing, I checked the vent. Everything is perfectly clean.
When I lower the bike to the ground onto its kick stand, now leaning, it starts leaking again.

Heard of this one?

if you over fill it it will leak......
ask me how I know....

1-1/2 pints is not a lot, but it is the correct amount.....

does your bike lean way over when on the stand?.....

Mine was leaking so I went back to 50w engine oil instead of Belray. No more leak...Mike

Im using 50w engine oil and it leans over the normal amount, not way over.
I did fill it up while it was on the kick stand till it wouldn't take anymore.
I thought it was to be filled to the fill hole. I'll take some out and see what happens.

I fill mine till I can just see a small puddle in the bottom of the kicker cover, when it's on the kickstand.

If the problem persists,
Drain the oil and refill the box with kerosene or mineral spirits.

It will run out wherever it can; Watch the base studs especially.

try putting a little talcum powder around the area you will see where it comes out it will leave a trail.

I thought you filled to bottom of the fill hole too. That might explain why I have had a pool of oil under my bike for years. I was suspecting one of the studs may be the culprit. It seems to shift a bit better after I top it off.

Now I'm Curious! My kicker cover has a allenhead plug located on the side. I always stand the bike level and fill oil till it reaches that level.Replace the allen and filler cap and I'm finished. Have i been doing this wrong all along? The allenhead plug is located nearly even with the kicker shaft. Its visible in this picture.

drain into a clean pan, and put in 1-1/2 pints thats all it needs, this is the spec out of the service manual....

Thanks Mike. This winter I'll do a little check to see if the two are equal to each other ( 1-1/2 pints --vs--Coming out of the allenhead hole). Once again , I'm curious.

Sorry I should have told you what I did to resolve the problem.
I started from square one, removed the seal and cork, cleaned everything, left the cork out, installed a new seal with a small amount of permatex avaition sealer on the outer surface, used a tool that installed the seal as square as possible, used one of those wunder nuts with a little sealer on the threads.
Left it sit overnight then topped up the oil to the fill plug hole or just below the hole so you could see oil while on the jiffy stand.
Let it sit overnight again. Did not reassemble until I was sure it would not leak.
The next day dry.
Install the clutch and primary, so far all is well.
