hey everyone i have a book by antique cycle supply, supposed to be the manual. i tore down the tranny, it looks very shiny no rust. i have small chips on the shifter dogs and corospinding gears but it looks like i have plenty of bite to push the gear once its in gear. the shift clutches wiggle a little on the shaft. 3rd gear which used to whine has about 6 thousants clearance, according to my mittutotoyo calipiers which is the only thing i have to measure with. where main drive gear sets, the shaft measures 998 and the bushing was 1.004 giving me about 6 tho clearance.the countershaft showed about 1 tho wear on one side. which i plan to replace. i dont have a good way to replayce the bushings and ream. do you think it will be ok with this much play in them?

Your bushing is worn out and should be replaced.
The old bushing is pressed out and a new bushing pressed in.
The bushing is then reamed to 1.000 on a lathe.
Your Harley shop may have a press and lathe (mine does) or a local machine shop should.
