37 to 54 use 3/8-24, they changed later but I don't know what year.

Re: Tranny drain plugs?
I've just been thru this too.The drain plug you want (3/8 x 24) is harley part # 700, v-twin and Old Dude have 'em
That oddball one with the 1/2 x 13 thread is part# 707, I don't know what bike that is for either, but the older trans like yours and mine take the #700 part number. One thing, however, is I am having difficulty finding the correct crush washer for this plug.
