Re: Electra Glide Revival
Doesn't do a thing for me. But I am sure I'm not the market demographic they are after.

Re: Electra Glide Revival
Agreed....
I don't buy new Harleys, I can, but don't want to pay their asking price. So, I build my own the way I want it to be, and I'm not beholding to anyone should anything go awry, it's all on me all the time, and that's the way I like it.....
If you want to buy some one else's dream, then there it is.....

I used to have a poster of Brigitte Bardot on my wall, but I didn't want to buy her either!

"Yes, but very expensive"....
Ain't they all?
Starting at $28,199 MSRP, they are right in line, as they have always historically been, just a little more expensive than mid level autos.

Re: Electra Glide Revival
For that money a guy could buy a really nice original '69 and have enough left over for a really nice used modern road bike....And not have to pretend!

Re: Electra Glide Revival
The continued rise in new Big Twin HD prices absolutely cannot be sustained. Sooner or later they will put themselves out of business or have to seriously cut personnel/plants, etc. A lot of folks think it will be when the Baby Boomers $ runs out or they are no longer healthy enough to spend the cash at high enough numbers to keep HD new bike sales and customization afloat. I'm very disappointed things are going this way all around, not just for motorcycles. The price of a new HD is so out of my reach that I rarely look at them in magazine articles or YT videos. I like the look of the Revival model but the only way I will ever own one is if the aftermarket sales in 20 or so years allows for a price that I can rationalize it. So where is the blame? Is it steel and other materials? Is it labor? Is it corporate greed, money grabs, or mismanagement?

Re: Electra Glide Revival
Well, what would y'all pay for a brand new Harley Davidson with vintage paint & badging? What would make you happy?

Re: Electra Glide Revival
For me it is a moot point since you'd have to pay me to take a new H-D. As far as I'm concerned they haven't built a real motorcycle in decades...

I suppose we "old fucks" are not the MoCo's target market. I have the money, I just don't want one.....

Re: Electra Glide Revival
I don't think age has anything to do with it. For me I feel H-D gave up when they introduced the Evo and never bothered with any further development, just adding a feature now and then for big money long after it was tried and true by other manufacturers. I still have a bit of trouble riding a Japanese bike but not for any good reason other than that I am an old fuck, because they are very good. But I like high performance bikes and my rides of preference tend to all come from Europe. My wife rides her Hondas gladly however even with a choice of others. The only new H-D I see with any promise is that dual sport thing. But many years ago I gave up on bikes that weighed over 500# dry. Just not interested in that big stupid crap.
I have lots of stories about "the road", being dissed by too cool H-D riders when riding something other. My wife always says "if they only knew what you had at home", and my response is "the dumb shits wouldn't know what it is anyway". With their doo-rags, chaps and chain drive wallets driving their H-D edition ford with their bike on a trailer.
This is my world, fuck the MoCo and their version....
Oh, and that guy in the second picture with me? He is the current H-D Vice President of design.....
