68' FLH Handlebar End Screw Threads?

#1

Post by wmarketst »

Can anyone confirm the thread pitch for a 1968 FLH handlebar end screw Part# 56288-53
I've seen both 3/4-16 and 3/4-18 documented in different manuals
I just want to make sure before i re-thread
Thanks

Colony thinks they are 3/4 -16, if you look closely at their package:

Thanks, I agree but
The OHV Big Twins Mechanics and Owners Guide written by Kirk Perry & Mark Stettler
Shows a figure in the handlebar section that refers to the end screw being 3/4-18
So I was wondering if anyone out there was certain

spend a few bucks on a thread gauge, and figure it out on your own!
