When motors get warm, they expand.
This makes holes get bigger.
So if you have any vacuum leaks at all around your O-rings, they get worse.
Soap bubbles are the best way to find even the tiniest leaks:

A big rubber stopper or cork works as well as a testplate, and please test even the pancover screw over each intake port.

PS: While you have the carb off, (and probably the manifold, too,.. atl east to replace the O-rings with gas-resistant viton) it is prudent to scrub the mating flanges on a sheet of emery to be certain that they are flat. Most often they have distorted from bolt pressure upon the soft gaskets and phenolic spacer between. Better grind the spacer flat too!
