THAT shutting down at 80 & in GEAR! DONT do that you will blow a BIG HOLE in a piston!--CHEK it properly as COTTON layed out for you! -----Richie

heres some backyard tech,remove your air cleaner,get some break kleen,wd -40,put the little red tube on it,start the bike up,squirt in the joint areas,see if the engine changes sound, squirting away from the carb. not sure what carb,or if you have oring heads,also what cotten has said,d-ring screw sucking air to,but do this with it warm up.and this is not a 50% this will work,but with big leaks.............................with respect...JR..

Its the other 50% that toast motors,
because they continue to be ridden.

If only it worked.]..The output side of a shop vac can be used in place of a compressor for low volume applications like checking for intake leaks, some vacuum hoses will fit right in the manifold...
Here's a bodacious 3.5 horse that bumped about 2psi on 'blow', and actually did better at producing about 2" on vaccuum. Put your mouth on a pressuregauge and see what it take so produce even five pounds.
Sucking on a vacuum gauge is easier.
And it is the same for manifold leaks.
I fear that I must warn against shopvacs along with tire pumps, mattress inflators, and anything else other than a constant, regulated supply for a dependable test.

If we were building the space shuttle or a piano, I would tend to agree but for tractor technology, I could make the shop vac work to my advantage.

It is only to your advantage until you miss a leak.
Tractors or space shuttles, absolute vacuum is equivalent to 14.7 psi (at sealevel, STP, etc.)
A shop vac doesnt even come close...
but I am sure it will show a huge leak, just like WD-40 or cigar smoke.

I have made a piece to test the intake now. You are right Cotten, it was an intake oiler but there was one on the intake to and i´ve put it there, it´s removed now! I also found one of the threads inserts in the head has been creeping out maby .oo5 mm. I can feel it with my nail. Do i have to worry about it? Can i put in the bolt and tap it easy on the head or just leave it be..
And i don´t smoke

Are you speaking of the manifold inserts, with bolts instead of rivets,
or are you referring to the headbolt inserts from below?
Headbolt inserts commonly need to be ground flush, and occasionally, the entire surface ground to flat. Common the regions near each port has receeded.
Manifold inserts (the nipples that the manifold nuts screw upon), however, can be quite difficult, particulalrly if they have the bolt-style rivet.
I urge to have both of your inserts tested separately while the head is removed.

No! I mean the threads in the cylinder head! The manifold is tested and no leeks found. Had some leeks round the gasket but that surface is been grounded down to a flat one now. The surface on the heads are not so fine, i am attending that to night. Carrying on..

I love the applicator! I would think some little bugger is upset with you, I would assume, a she. You'll get busted with it for sure.
