The picture is in the previous owner's garage (I do not use fold-up tables as work benches).
This is what I started with...'43 WLC...5-6yrs ago.
I have most of the pieces now (...gave up on some oem pieces and used repop) and will be starting the individual rebuild of parts, wheels, springer, etc..then the goal is to mock it up

Interesting re-use of the teardrop tool box as an air cleaner coverDerek43WLC wrote:

.
...lets just say the previous owner had noooo clue what he was doing.
..he staged the pic to make it as complete as possible but, obviously did not know what goes where.
..look where the ride control sliders are, the air cleaner in position of the battery... !!!
I remember having to really hold back the constant need to burst out in laughter while I was there looking it over.

Re: Any good WL/WLA/G Projects going on
I am new to the site and this is the first post I stumbled upon. I am currently working on a 1961 Servi-Car (Police). Looking forward to hearing some advice on restoration and parts acquisition from some of the members.

Nice project. Servi-Cars have their own interesting nuances. Welcome to the forum and when you can go to the new members section and do an intro. You will get a lot more response from folks.

Re: Any good WL/WLA/G Projects going on
I've got three WLAs in pieces in boxes in my workshop. With winter coming on, and the temperature likely to hover between 40 and 50 F, it will be too bloody cold to work outside in the workshop. So I'll bring the WLAs into the kitchen, one at a time and put them together.
Here's one box of bits
I'll have to get a magnifying glass because this is how big the bikes will be.
The bikes will be the centre pieces of a diorama which will use the three human figures from this kit.
One of the bikes will be made up as the standing human figure's army surplus bike, virtually as used by the army, but with some wear and tear marks. The other two bikes will be built as civilianized WLAs. They will have lots of chrome bits and carry personalised paint schemes.
The standing figure is the local garage mechanic who has come out to help the other two. He will be painted to look like he is wearing greasy overalls. The crouching figure will have the front wheel off his bike as if he was fixing a flat tyre. The third figure will just be sitting on his bike looking on. These two figures will be painted wearing jeans and maybe leather jackets, or just denim jackets.
The figures will be set on the side of a country road with a gully and slope as the backdrop.
That's the plan. I only hope that I can fulfill it.
