Advise on bending a rigid fork
So Ive been chasing this issue with my springer on my WL and have come down to the axle is lining up. like the left leg is pushed forward. once the wheel is on she locked tight. when the axle get to the fattest part i touches the drum just outside the spacer.
So whats the best process to bend it back? Is it better to do off the bike? just figured I may find some tricks here before thinking about replacing.

How about a picture of what you are trying to describe. And whatever you do, do it cold, no heat.

Yes something changed, the maximum size of attachments has become larger: https://www.hydra-glide.net/phpBB3/view ... 60&t=20415, so size can't be a problem.I don't know what happened maybe when the site changed?
How big is your picture? Alternatively you can send it to me.

Re: Advise on bending a rigid fork
ok seemed to have got 4 to take. so you can see whats my issue. Also should the brake pivot rub on the spring fork or should it have a slight bow?

Re: Advise on bending a rigid fork
It looks like one or more of the forks is a bit twisted. I've done that repair with the front end in place. Is this aftermarket?

Re: Advise on bending a rigid fork
I dont really know, the spring fork did have some #s on it so I assume possibly original. that fork had a dent down by the rockers so I replaced it.
What the best way on the bike? I just dont wanna tweak it worse.

Re: Advise on bending a rigid fork
is it just the photo or is the brake cam way too small? besides that you've got something twisted or mismatched .is there any way you can get this thing on a flat surface and check it like the knuck manual shows?

Re: Advise on bending a rigid fork
Im guessing its gonna come off. All have been replaced besides the bushing and the rigid fork. Feeling now I shouldve just gotten a vtwin full fork and had been done.

You can buy an aftermarket front end, but that doesn't mean you're done. You could have the same issue.

Re: Advise on bending a rigid fork
you think you have problems now? buy some of vtwins junk and you'll find a whole new meaning to problems.what ever is wrong with this can be fixed. but you have to find out where it's bent first. eyeballin is good for lookin at women but this needs to be layed out on a flat surface and documented. back up, calm down and start from scratch. I've fixed a LOT worse than this but you have to start out the right way. Take it off and disassemble it. start from there.
