Bad vibration, wheel bounce

#1

Post by keser »

Just replaced my 16 with one of the CCI repop 21 inch wheels on my 55 custom. At certain rpms and speeds, the front end wants to shake out my fillings. I've replaced the fork fluid, turned the axle down slightly to tighten the wheel (the crappy axle they sell for the timken hubs bottomed out on the brake sleeve before hitting the bearings). It smooths out some under acceleration. Anyone had the same issues? Thanks

Can't say as I've had the exact same issues, but of course your post cries out that you should check the new wheel for runout, both lateral and radial, and also static balance.
