StarHubs Interchangable?

#1

Post by Ohio-Rider »

Anyone know for sure if the front and rear starhubs are interchangable?
I've got a straight leg 56 pan with a 47 springer front end. I'm running a 21" wheel on the front and and want to restore it back to the 16" wheel. Anyway I've got a O.E.M starhub on the self that I took off the back of this bike a few years back and I'm thinking of sending it to Star-Hub-Pro's for a rebuild if I can use it on the 47 front end. That will save me some serious money and keep me with original parts on my bike. While I'm on the subject will I be able to use the original axle and spacers?? -Steve-

There is no difference between front and rear star hubs. I understand guys used to rotate front/rear wheels every few thousand miles to even up the tire wear. No change to spacing should be required.

Yes they are interchangable if they are really star hubs, spacers and axle stay where they were originally installed. I have used starhubpros for both my front and rear, as well as for my sidecar and sparetire. I can interchange any of my 4 wheels.
