S&S intake manifold

#1

Post by ncitta »

Is anyone making an S&S intake manifold for a 1946 Chief??
I am repairing a Chief for a friend that has one on hers but it is a piece of JUNK,
the bike has been converted for many years and ran fine till it leaked and fried the motor.
She brought it to me and I thought it had an intake leak by the way it sounded and its stubborness with the adjustments.
I pulled the carb and stopped right there. the adaptor is a pure piece of junk.
Any help is appreciated, I would like to avoid re-inventing the wheel...

Not that I know of.You could always buy one of the common 2 bolt carb to Linkert manifold adaptors that are on the market. The S&S will fit them with very little fiddling.I am curious as to why anyone would want an S&S carb on an indian??? I would think something like a round slide Mikuni or a Bendix would be more satisfactory.
