Hello all,
Could anybody give me some info about these transmission case numbers.
Especially the "3 3" and the "1 E"numbers. Production year?
Thought the 3-3 numbers should be a character followed by a number for month and year.
Thanks in advance.
Wallie.

Re: transmission identification
The 3-3 code is common for several years in the mid 50s. Do a search or look at the knowledge base for discussion on those codes. And The 1 E don't have anything to do with year codes. It is believed that they are foundry and inspector codes.

Re: transmission identification
3 3 is March 1953, however all cases from March 53 through Dec 57 have the same date code.

If the case is tapped for a vent screw, it is 55 or older, otherwise it uses the -56 vent screw on the lid.
