1950 Pan Cases

#1

Post by jason.weir »

I just picked up a set of pan cases and wanted you guys opinion on them.

Everything looks good

VIN 50FL2128
Right Inside Casting # 112-48 with an F9 date code
Left Inside Casting # 112-481 with a C9 date code

Here is my question

The belly #s match at 350-1682

Bruce Palmers book (page 9) says that the production #s should start as follows:

1=74" OHV
2=61" OHV
3=45"
4=74" SV

Any reason why mine start with a three??

I put some pictures up here

yankeeinfluences.com/bike/

(as a guest I can't put web links in, you will need to fill in the beginning of the link above, or email me and I will send the link)

Take a look and see what you think

Thanks,
Jason Weir

Looks like the belly numbers start with a 1 from the pics...

Either a 3 or and 8, either way the first number is really hard to make out.

the 7's belong there, not sure about the G?
hopefully someone else will reply. i don't know what the g means and the belly numbers beginning with 3 is suspicious.
