Brake don't fit!100 viewsI got a problem I can't resolve on my own. The front brake rod on my 48FL. I have screwed with this thing off and on for hours (First lesson the resto biz. No when to walk away and grab a beer) I start from the beginning.
I finally got to putting floor boards on and you can bet the rear mount was made incorrectly. It was missing the 10 degee kink to the rear so the front mount would line up. (Note here. I had two after market sets. One from evil Teddy and one I scored from watertowngrl. Both kits had the same screw up. So Bruce's shit isn't any better than evil Tedds). I went pallet hopping and came up with a OEM one that fit like a glove that wasn't soaked in blood. So now the brake rod which is after market since my oem one was trashed. No matter how I position the rod, I can't get it high enough to put the pin in the second hole up on the brake pedal without hitting the rear foot board mount. Something like this could drive a guy to drink! Any ideas boys? On a side note: The bottom hole on the peddle is for the return spring, second hole rod. so what is the third hole up and to the rear for and then there's the fourth hole mid way up the peddle? Thanks, Bob L
