09/06/12 at 16:08Thanks, Rick, I changed all of the fluids, cleaned out the gas tank and float bowl and put new gas in it. There is a problem with the wiring so I could not use the electric start. I connected a cable from the battery directly to coil and with the help of starter fluid and lot of up and down on the kick starter, it finally coughed to life. It burns a lot of oil and there is a loud whining sound coming from the gear cover area. I rode the bike up and down my street, about a mile all together, and with the modified frame, it handles terribly. The front wheel wants to flop to the side and stay there. I have to muscle it up to keep it going in a straight line. The rear brake works just fine. The front brake, a J-Brake caliper, does not work at all. This project will require a lot of time and TLC to get it road worthy.
