Is a arbor press the right tool to press the bushings in without damage?

Heat the gear, cool the bushing, press it in, or draw it in place with an nut, bolt and washers. Size it after install....bosheff

An arbor press should do fine; the interference is not enormous.
Make sure the chamfers are clean, and lube them well.
I press nearly everything but case races and rod bushings at room temperature, for the sake of "feel".
