61 left side case?

#1

Post by woodrow »

I have a 61 left side case and was wondering if I can run a 56 right side case with the 61? If not is there any other year of case that will be compatible?

Ideally you would run a '58 and later for the big right side main, but any case from '48 up will bolt to it. The '56 does have the mid '50s improved bearing. Same size as a Sportster uses. In '58 they went to double row bearings on a larger shaft. Used all the way through the Shovelhead series.
