Push rod end size question

#1

Post by Lethal Farce »

Hi,
I just needed one push rod to finish my motor. I picked up the correct length non-adjustable type at a local shop. My question is; my other three have the larger ball end to the top that fits into the rocker arm socket. This one I picked up has two of the smaller ends. Will it work on my bike? And this time I did check Palmers book first, for info, but no luck.
Thanks, LF

The one you picked up is for a shovelhead, You need one like the other ones you have. They came in sets of two or three different lengths, the longest would be front exhaust, next longest would be rear exhaust and the two short ones would be the intakes.

Actually, if it is a non adjustable aluminum push rod it is for an iron head sportster, shovels never came stock with non adjustable pushrods. If looks way different and is made from steel it may be from a knucklehead. Either way it won't work on your pan.
