Flushing...
I have my bike stripped down to bedrock. I do not want to split the cases, but I would like to flush the crankcase out. Suggestions?

don't.
that is what i was told by my motor guy.
it seems that crud builds up on the inside lip of the flywheels. flushing it can dislodge it.

I wouldn't use anything!--If you are sure the bottom-end is in running cond.--(measure everything-twice).Just make sure the gasket surfaces are clean & don't get it in the cases!.Proceed to finish motor!----Besides if you went that far & olny if your -Positive the bottoms-up to service!--Have Fun!--respectfully---RICHIE

There's a time and a place for everything, Folks.
I used mineral spirits to wash out the fresh aluminum gravel.

Ol' Shiftless would just say "practice".
But I always spout "Patience, carefull observation, and common sense."
Beware when the last aspect reveals itself after the fact.

PS: John referred to deposits within the lips of the flywheels.
A literal centrifuge, particulates compact so tightly that a superficial flush may hardly touch it. It was an effective "sludge trap" that could have been improved.
(MidWestern USA machines often contain the glacial loess from roads of the day.)
One could even argue that it does the same as "Balancemasters".
