Initial setting for the primary chain oiler

#1

Post by dasweasel »

I have a 1958 FL, and just had the engine completely rebuilt. It leaks a fair amount of oil (I can see the drops on the pavement while I'm waiting at a stoplight). Can someone tell me what the initial setting is for the primary chain oiler - how many rotations from fully threaded in?

Thanks,

Ed

Back when I ran a chain I experamented with the oil supply trying to reduce the oil mess on the garage floor. I found that a spot about the size of a fifty cent piece on the floor would ensure the chain was well oiled, if the chain turns brown it will wear out quick!...Mike
