I realize that this is heresy but here goes.
A friend has a nice pan that I am fine-tuning. He rides the thing twice a year, which is too bad, but I can't help that. His oil pump sumps something terrible. Within two months of shutting down the bike, all of the oil is on the garage floor.
I saw a bike with a shut-off valve installed on the oil line below the oil bag and want to install such a valve on this bike. The valve obviously needs to allow sufficient flow, especially with cold oil. The typical brass valves found at hardware stores have too much of a restriction. Any suggestions on the type of valve to use?
I will made a big sign that he will attach to the starter peddle warning him that the valve needs to be opened.
