Correct cylinder and head paint.
Hi there knuckle owners:- Does anyone know the correct black paint to use on a knuckle cylinder and cylinder head for 1947 knuckle? Is it gloss black or flat black? Any input be apreciated...Thanks...Joe

Dear Joe,
I would call it satin finish. Originals were parkerized inside and out before enamel, so the surface was grainy.

Thanks you night shift: If parkerized ,that be flat black for sure and you are saying the final enamel coat was also flat black I take it then?...thnx...Joe

Not exactly Joe,
Parkerizing was a primer for the paint, and it kept the bores in storage too. Because it was grainy gloss cant be, and baking can dull hard paints too. Flats too flat and gloss is too gloss and dont look now but no two blacks are the same!
