Any good news with running a "E" on a 48 el? If so what main? the bike startes nice and runs ok but real bad on the big end, bike is stock and heavy (not a chopper)

The E is a great carb for a pan. Try 68 or 70 on the main, 26 or 285 on the idle. Turn the accelerator pump almost off.

AS mentioned ,-also check for vacuum-leaks-&being your running a stock EL-1000cc,-A 68-70 will be just great on that bike ,Leave the others stock & make-sure float works!-(it actually shuts off the fuel at the correct adj.!---I ran a S&S-B on a shortster 900---with larger jetting & it ran like a raped ape!-but cams & ex. were not stock!With what you have you will love-it/-big diff. from a Linkert(I know IM gettig cursed at!)-but it speaks for itself you will have better throttle(crisp)& itll pull ALOT BETTER!!.----RICHIE
