M-74B parts?

I traded a M-88 from my leftover WLA build, for a M-74B with a board member here.

I am now looking for a source for quality replacment parts for my M-74B. I would prefer to use original parts if possible.

I need:

Venturi
Main Nozzle
Throttle shaft
Throttle disk & screws

Any tips on the rebuild for it are welcome!

I am going to be using this on my 58FL project.

Don't forget guys that George is in Germany, and I believe that is where his carb is as well!

You might try Boon over there. And if you can get OEM, go for it as very few of the aftermarket bits are exactly right.

George, as you know there are probably more Old Harleys, and parts in Germany then in the US . I remember the mass exodus of bikes heading to germany in the late 80s.... They tried to buy my 1960, that was not happening....no matter how much they offerd. I lived in europe from 98 to 07, and there were always a lot of old parts and bikes around, at fair prices. I did get parts from into the wilderness, they have a very complete selection. In germany , there is WW , but aftermarket replacement. I'm not sure if into the wilderness is NOS. What about old dude? I'm always surprised at what they have in stock, Adam

Robbie...yes I am in Germany and the carb is on the kitchen table.....naturally pissing off the boss lady.

JW Boon, does have some parts, and I will be checking in with him

Cotten, Kurt and Wendy moved operations 1st from Holland to Ohio, then on to Tuscon AZ.

I am going to be using one of your floats that I have in the basement in a box, that I got as a spare from you for my M-88

To all that assisted ...

I found all of the parts that I was looking for, in Germany... just south of Munich.....best thing.......they are NOS parts!

Hopefully soon I will have a complete workable carb.

Ok,

Got the parts, and put the carb together,

Venturi fits nice and snug with out any light showing around the bodys ID, and the venturi's OD .. (flashlight shined into the bore from both sides).

One thing that is concerning me.

What is, or would be the effect of running the carb with a plug installed, instead of the # 19 fixed jet?

Reason I am asking is this:

The fixed jet feels like the threads within the carb itself is about to let go.......so I stopped, because I don't want to damage the body.

A threaded plug goes in and it tightens just fine. I could drill a hole in the plug, and achive the same as a jet ( I think ). If there is any reason that the carb won't work correctly. If not I will leave the plug in.

I may be wrong but IT might affect your HI-SPEED running!--If you block it the bike might break-up at higher-speeds due to insufficient supply of fuel!--COTTON or ROBBIE--Should know for-sure!---Richie

will the jet screw into the other hole in the bowlstem?

It is a common #10-32 straight thread.

I did not even try it in the other hole in the bowl stem.

i just went by the parts manual, and put in there per the diagram in the book.

It don't matter which hole it goes in???

I'll go give it a looksee.
