Buco leather saddlebags

#1

Post by rmcrh »

The American border has advised us that we, as Canadians, cannot ship items unless we can prove origin of manufacture. Can any one refer me to a site that will show Buco bags were made in the U S A please. I have searched and cannot find one. We have been selling through E Bay and have been shipping from the states as Canadian shipping is so high. We have had several roadblocks by the border and now with the demand of proof of origin we are attempting to show origins when we can.

rmcrh!

The origin of a product is usually stamped upon it somewhere;
With BUCO bags, I would look upon the steel reinforcing strap inside.

My best guess is that BUCO was in the city of Detroit, Michigan, USA.

I still need to prove Buco was an American company. Even with Harley parts they are challenging they may be outsourced. Unless they are stamped made in the U S A or we can provide alternate proof such as a site reference or printed material that Buco was an American company.

Just google Joseph Buegeliesen Company and you will get lots of info on BUCO.

I tried that and could not find any definitive about the leather bags. Windshields hard bags leather coats and pants but no leather saddlebags. What I believe I need is a photo reference to the bags and the company. Thanks to both replies.

Thank you exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much."Forum Rocks"
Now we will see what happens as the rules at the border are not the frustration rather the inconsistent application. You are "pitched" against whomever is the attending border official and his or her choice of which rules to apply.
