rear bumper stabilizer springs

would anybody out there know the dimensions of the rear bumper stabilizer springs on a '49 FL? i can't find a set anywhere, so i thought i could make a set. i've heard they were made very thin and tended to break easily. the part # is 91029-48.i believe if i had a good picture of them in place i could judge the length.

They Are 3/4 Inch Wide 3 Inch Long After They Have Been Bent Approx. 1 Inch Offset

Hawg, i sure do appreciate that. i'm going to make a pair now. they look really thin. maybe 1/16" or 1/8" thick. would you happen to know the correct plating on them for '49?

Meadows,
They are spring steel and the originals are very tough material. Almost impossible to drill with normal means. Not unlike a hacksaw blade.

yep, i didn't think about that. it makes sense, though, being a stabilizer spring. i don't have any idea where to get that kind of material. i'm probably going to make them out of 1/16" steel. they look to be parkerized, along with the rear stand catch.
