Saddle bags
I hope someone can identify some bags and what they fit, I would be interested in trading them for larger bags. Both pairs are aprox 20" long 11.5" tall and 5.5" wide one pair is slant style.

Dcmc!
I honestly do not know the maker, but I am certain that you should never apply Neats'foot oil to them, as it destroyed my pair quickly, turning the lids to stone: I suspect your buckles and strap bands have been replaced.
The 'rose' pattern for OEM productions changed from year to year, and always in demand.
Nice bags!

Re: Saddle bags
Thanks, I used some' Leather Therapy' not sure it did much, but the bags were fairly pliable already. Would these buckles be of a particular vintage? or are they generic. Would be nice to see a photo gallery, or at least pages on here from some accessory catalogs.

Yours are real familiar (got some in a box somewhere...), but they do not match my '49 "western" buckles and bands.
Your "piping" is quite nice, in that it is not really wavy.

Re: Saddle bags
Dmc----If you want to clean them use -(Glycerin)-You can get it in small 2 & 4oz. bottles!--& A little goes ALONG-WAY!--Other cleaners will as Cotten said, make them hard, or Discouler them!.---Once there wiped with Glycerin ,you need to do nothing else ,as they will be SOFT after the 1st. application!-& shed water greatly!.----Respectfully----RICHIE
