saddlebag lid

#1

Post by Scrap »

I posted this on the shovelhead forum but I thought maybe someone on the Pan forum could help. I need a left hand saddlebag lid for a 1980 FLT. I can't find one on line, any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sam

The seller says it's for 1993 and up, also has large crack needing repair.

Here's a couple.

If you're looking for Oem saddlebag lids for old FLT's... they are easier to find if you watch along side the road

Very funny, if you find mine, let me know and at least give me member discount. By the way, I searched ebay every which way and could not get a single hit. What did you use for a search term? I received advice regarding drilling a hole in the hinge and adding a lock pin....I bought this bike new, and after the initial dealer check up, he informed me that on a test ride the lid flew off and he had the nerve to tell me that as a courtesy, he was going to split the repair cost with me! What an A-hole, but I actually miss him, you could write a book about his long gone shop, Quatro MC Sales in Pawtucket, RI.

I searched e bay for a 1980 FLT left saddlebag lid... and those came up.

I went back and found my OP left side lid... but it had a bad case of road kill.

I now have an original paint 1981 FLT... except for the damned miss matched saddlebag lids.
