i have a 49 fl engine,as you know this uses the floater style sprocket shaft.have any of you ever converted this to a timken bearing bottom and used a later style sprocket shaft.thanks

yea I know a guy that does this mod.....
but I ask you is it broken?
I have been running the same style as you and have ridden it hard and have not had any problems.
but it can be done if that is what you want,
he is in a past Easyrider mag article issue 306 dec 1998

thanks for the reply,no the engine is fine,i want to run a 5 speed on my bike and i figure i need to install a longer sprocket shaft to do it,unless there are other possibilities.thanks
