BENCH TESTING A STOCK USED 6 VOLT COIL

I WAS WONDERING IF THERE IS A WAY TO TEST STOCK USED 6 VOLT COILS AT SAY A SWAP MEET? (I DO HAVE SMALL ELECTRICAL TESTER/OHM METER)

an ohmmeter will tell you if there is still continuity in the primary side of the circuit, connect the meter to the 2 terminals. Checking the secondary will require a hot battery and 2 good plug wires installed correctly to see if it throws a clean spark. Remember that producing a fat spark in an air gap is not always a true indication of a good coil, but if it does it will usually get you down the road. Also remember that heat will also cause failure, some of them only malfunction when they get hot.

I agree with the above post . Just because they Ohm out good ,does not mean they will function correctly in service.
